Inspect the caulking and silicon around your baths and showers. it is recommended to do this yearly to help insure moisture is not building up behind these wet areas. Check drainage swales for proper flow of rain water around your home. Insure your foundation is receiving equal amounts of moisture on all sides. Insure your pipes are properly insulated outside during winter months. During the fall and winter months, insure that leaves are removed from gutters. Service your a/c system in the spring to insure your drain system is clear and your coils are operating efficiently. Test gfci outlets (ground-fault-circuit-interupts) to insure they are working properly. During spring months, check your siding, windows, and roof for anything out of the ordinary (cracks, lifting shingles, caulking wearing out). Check to insure your weep holes are clear to allow moisture to drain (holes at brick and foundation). During the holiday season, insure that all decorations have tight connections. Check to insure light bulbs have proper wattage. Check your attic for proper ventilation. Trim branches from contacting your home. Locate a multi-purpose fire extinguisher in your home. Check to insure smoke detectors are functioning correctly (test button). Inspect weatherstripping on doors. Apply pest control treatment annually.
